Yes. That can be an issue. I think you may need to inject the correct EDID. I've never had to do this and don't have any experience with it so you'll have to search for instructions.

FYI, enabling IGPU and disabling the kext had the preview not work anymore

Doesn't make sense. Please post your EFI folder.

What I noticed was that for system reports graphics, it just showed up two graphics options if I enabled IGPU. But it preview stopped working

Please try this config.plist. Enable IGPU in BIOS and remove NoVPAJpeg.kext.

OK, now it is flickering in windows as well, so I was wrong saying it didn't. At least that bit is solved so I'm marking the thread solved.
