Hey tony, I'm thinking about getting the new 13-inch rMBP. However, I'm unclear if the SSD is upgradeable. I realize that it's not using a standard SATA connector or anything, but is it soldered to the motherboard? OCZ offers SSD upgrades for the 15 incher so I was wondering if the same would be offered here.

Looks from the images they shared today its the same as used in the previous retina MBP. So the OCZ and Macsales solutions should work just fine when you want to upgrade in the future.

Awesome! Do you think the $200 i7 upgrade is worth it? I'm going to be using this computer for at least a good four years.

It certainly performs better. Whether or not it is needed I can't tell you without knowing your workload. That said if you plan to keep it awhile its probably worth it.

Well the i7 gives you 2 more cores. It certainly performs better. Whether or not it is needed I can't tell you without knowing your workload. That said if you plan to keep it awhile its probably worth it.

Look again, the i7 upgrade in the 13" rMBP is still only a dual-core processor at 2.9Ghz

I am a bit shocked that Apple did not put a 6 core in the iMac.

Wow totally missed that thanks for the correction.

Please! Be aware of the lack of GPU in the 13" rMBP!! It does only have the HD4000 as the 13" MBP/MBA has got...
The screen as great, but thats it more or less for the rMBP in comparision to 13" MBP/MB....

Think about that..
