Nervous about first build - please help

Hi everyone--

I'm new to the forum and although I've built many PCs in the past this will be my first CustoMac. I've assembled a parts list and have made several adjustments based on the guides and forum threads, but I just wanted to see what you guys thought and if you see any red flags as far as compatibility is concerned. I've checked every piece with the build guides and the only piece that isn't on the list is the PSU but I don't see why that'd be an issue. I'm a graphic designer and plan on using this for work, but will eventually drop in another SSD and HDD to run windows for gaming. I'll be outputting to a 55" 4K HD Sony Bravia tv. This is the only component that I would question - I know people have reported problems in the past with Asus DVD-RW drives spinning up and down continuously, preventing the hackintosh from sleeping (though I don't know if this particular model is affected). The Sony Optiarc 5280S or 7280S, though pricey, are the models I *know* don't have any problems with OS X (i.e. the "gold standard"). IIRC, the Samsung SH-224GB, which is only slightly more than the Asus, is also a good choice for OS X.

Oh, and there was no reason to double-post - you could have edited your original component list instead of starting another new thread.

Thank you so much nobodynose. This is something I never would have thought about. Besides that everything is compatible? If that is true that certainly relieves a great deal of my hesitance/anxiety to make the purchase(s).

Yes, everything else should work fine - you said you did your homework and verified your hardware choices with build guides, so I don't think there's anything to worry about.

The only things that I didn't pull from the guides was the tower and the PSU but I don't see why that would be an issue, right? My research says 650w should be enough and I read up on the PSU and it seems to have great reviews. And the tower I just love the design of. Thanks again!
