neilhart's AIR 540 project - What will I mod?

I have been looking around for new project ideas and stumbled across the Corsair Air 540. Apparently this case has been available for some time although I have not see a hack in one (yet).

The layout is nearly the same that I came up with on my Black Prodigy project, but with more room to work with.

If you have this case please share your build with pros and cons or just opinions.

Anyway I have a case on order at this point. More to come...

Awesome idea. Had one in mind for my a new hackintosh mod. This case is very awesome for a water-cooled mod. Would love to see your modding skills on this mod!

I just saw that they announced the whit 540 AIR. I think i will go for that one!

And I see that Newegg does not have the best price so it is worth while to check around.

The AIR arrived today and it is massive compared to what I had anticipated.

Here is a photo of the AIR with my Black Prodigy.

And as a reminder, the Black has a full ATX motherboard.

Anyway, I immediately saw the grill mesh on the top and front panels is not right by a long shot.

On each mesh piece, the pattern is correct in the center but has walked as the press closed.
Now that I know that the defect is there, I can see it on the photos in the on line reviews and the one in process project that I could find.

My options are to fix this as part of the mod or return the case to my supplier.

I will think on this for a while.

Haha yeah that case is almost like a double-wide midtower but it would make for an awesome watercooling case due to all of the hidden space behind the motherboard tray.

Hey for a watercooling rig you are correct. Take a look at this project: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=262625&highlight=carbide+air+540

But that is not what I am into. And I do not have the free funds to go that route. This thing is like a test stand and it only take a few minutes to get a basic system installed and running.

I am still in the planning mode at this point.
