NEED Opinion on i7 980

there is someone selling me i7 980 for 409USD with GA-X58A-UD3R motherboard and 4gb of ram and a noctua d14.

is it worth the 409usd?

planning to buy gtx 770 and the PSU will be corsair full modular 850. and will upgrade the ram to 16gb.

other stuffs isn't a problem. im only undecided with the i7 980

Yes, I think that it will be worth it for 409USD.

Not a bad deal. But if you look for bundle deals, you can get a new 4670k with a quality motherboard and 4Gb of ram for under $409 (minus the NH d14). Even without an overclock the 4670k will crush the 980 in single threaded loads. In multi threaded loads I would guess that 980 would beat it--but not by much. So I wouldn't recommend it. The z87 chipset is much more supported, you will have less problems, new features like USB 3.0, PCIe gen 3, SATA 3, power management, and all your parts would be new.

i already informed him i will not accept the deal but he's offering me now 12gb of corsair 1600mhz for the same price. im still thinking if i will go with it or not


this will be my first hackintosh if i will purchase this
