Hello everybody,

For almost 2 weeks I've been reading tutorials and at the forum how to install MacOS on my computer and laptop.
Last weekend I started with my PC and managed to install it at once without any problems (viewtopic.php?f=54&t=32349).

This weekend I started with my laptop, a Sony Vaio VGN FE-31H.

In the beginning I was having problems with booting from the iboot disc, but I solved by excluding boot from the hdd.

When I finally booted the disc and inserted the SL installation disc the first problem occured. The internal lcd screen of the laptop was showing strange strokes.
By using an external screen I was able to gain a normal image and was able to install SL. But I knew I was gonna have to solve the internal screen problem.

When I finally got into Mac OS I ran multibeast. But I didn't have any DSDT for my motherboard.

What is working
- The sound is working
- The GPU is working, nevertheless only by using an external screen
- The internal keyboard is working
- The USB-ports are working

What is not working
- The ethernet port
- The trackpad
- Wi-Fi
- The internal LCD screen

Other problems I found
- In the menu when I press "about this Mac" it seems like finder is restarting. An blue screen occurs and then Mac OS appears again, but no Mac Info.
- When I try to boot into Mac OS from the HDD I get the message "hibernate image is too old by xxx seconds" and then the gray screen occurs with the apple logo. But nothing happens. The only solution is booting from the iboot disc.

How did I install
I used the tutorial at http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-ins ... ing-a-mac/
1. I ran iboot 3.3.1
2. Insert the SL 10.6.3 installation disc and hit F5
3. Install SL
4. Ran Multibeast (but without DSDT)

Laptop configuration
Motherboard: Intel 82801GBM (IHC7-M)
Processor: Core2Duo T2200
Memmory: 4GB
GPU: GeForce Go 7400 TurboCache
DVD: Pioneer DVR K16M

In Windows I found the following information about ethernet, audio, etc.:
Network: Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection
Wi-Fi: Texas Instruments OHCI compliant IEEE 1394 Host
Wi-Fi: Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network connection
Trackpad: Alps Electronics
Audio: Legacy audio
Audio: Sigmatel HD Audio

On the internet I found:
Wi-Fi: 3945ABG wireless adapter

Any advice how to proceed? I would be very thankfull!!

intel 3945 wifi card will works on osx but it only accept open hotspot
it's best go to ebay and get a different card.

you can get your ethernet working, it's not "out of box".
i forget which kexts made it work since i no longer have my vaio fe.

if your fe is like mine, even with gfx kexts installed it still not as fast as windows.
