Updated without any problems, didn't update any kext files, on Clover r4920, no purple lines on boot up.

@andyxm715

But...how? This makes no sense. Which RX 580 are you using? Also, could you, please, remove private info from SMBIOS and upload your EFI folder so we can compare? Are you connected via DP or HDMI?

@arsradu

I'm using a ROG Strix RX580, I'm connected via DP, have attached my EFI folder.

Thank you very much for the EFI folder! This is quite interesting... Cause I still have the exact same issue with your EFI folder. So basically nothing from your EFI makes any difference in my case. Also, do you not need any kexts other than FakeSMC...? Cause I'm booting to a black screen, losing video signal (which is a known issue) unless I'm using Lilu and WEG kexts. But both these kexts seem to be absent in your case.

So, so far the only thing I can see different is the actual video card (and its ROM). What's really interesting (and kind of frustrating at the same time) is that the Strix (for as far as I know) is not officially supported by Apple. The Pulse is. Still, it looks like the Pulse version is the one with more issues. Like WTH?! :)))

my Lilu and WEG kexts are installed in /Library/Extensions only, not in my EFI folder.

As I said, it's not a big issue. :) Sorry if I sounded like a demanding a**hole. :)) That was definitely not my intention. Just wanted to learn more about this issue. And I was hoping that, since this issue is now gonna come up more and more often (due to the latest official update, although it's been there since the Betas), maaaybe someone figured out a fix.

By the way, I do own a real Mac. And I don't have this issue. But obviously that's a different hardware. So, not sure what you're suggesting. But it's not really helping in this case, because I'm looking for a solution to this particular problem.

Also, about the flashing, so far, everyone with AMD cards (including Vega cards), had it. Could you, please, upload a video of your boot, from Clover GUI to login screen? I'm curious what could be the difference in your case.

Hehe - Understood:)

I think only the purple boot lines will dissappear with maybe new kext (lilu etc.) or clover update... if we are lucky. Otherwise it’s probably fixed in the next few betas (I hope, but not bothered by them myself when it’s a general thing)

Do you mean that short “blackscreen” before login appeares, as flashing screen? If yes, then I have it too since 10.14.3 or something (can’t remember).

Seems like it’s only newer AMD cards that gets the purple lines.

Oh, I see. That makes sense. :) Well, if you don't have any dedicated kext for this in L/E...then it's probably not the kexts that make it work for you. It's probably just the fact that it's a different manufacturer (with a different ROM)

Hey man!

Could you please, run the command below in terminal and post the output here?

Code:
kextstat | grep -v com.apple

I'm curious what could be different in your case.
