Need help building my own airport card for wifi

Hello everyone,

I heard building your own airport card is the best option for wifi, and isn't too difficult. I found a simple tutorial which recommends using the Winking mini pci-e to pci-e adapter and a apple broadcom card, except I can't find the Winking brand adapter anywhere!

Does anyone know if another mini pci-e to pci-e adapter would work, and if so, which one?

This is what I bought to replace the Winking

The only thing is my mobo was RMA'ed before I could test it so I don't know if it's flawless or not. It has the same specs as the Winking that's why I went with it.

I get my motherboard back tomorrow, I could have my rig put together by the evening and home made airport card in as well and let you know if it's 100%

Got it working last night, plug and play, it was awesome.
I put it together and works great. It was late when I got most of my hack done so I was doing to quick interwebs browsing but that was all.

How you liking your hackintosh? Did it take you a long time to put together?

Last thing I need to get is a monitor :-D

I love it! The only thing that is taking the longest to figure out is how to get parallels working with an already loaded win7 hard drive. I have three HDDs one SL one win7 and last as OSX back up and media files.
All in all though I'm loving it

Yeah Im in 64bit and it works fine
