You can't use this adaptor, it has no OSX support from both Apple and Realtek. You will have to change it with this one: SPS: 593127-001 Atheros 9285 + Bluetooth combo

I too have the Realtek card. I purchased the Atheros card on eBay today, it should come in the next few weeks.

Does anyone have a guide or tutorial for replacing the Realtek card?

I don't think is need it.
If you open the back cover you have access to the card. Take out the two screws and the two antennas and you done!

So simple.
