Could be time for Eleven. As in MacOS 11. It's not MacOS X anymore, after all. It's MacOS 10.12.5. iOS and tvOS are about to go to 11. The opportunity to drop the California region name is ripe. Make it MacOS 11, then "it's very special, because, if you can see, the numbers all go to... 11 -- look -- right across the board: 11, 11, 11..."

To go to 11 now after all this time I feel like it would need a whole new OS, a new milestone, but we all know this will just be a feature update, 10.13 is far more likely. (new emoji anyone?)

Although, having said that, with Windows now locked into the number 10 for the foreseeable future and the recent macOS rebranding, plus with new macPro on the way, maybe 'the times they are a changing'.
