My Starter Hackintosh :: SUCCESS!!!

I am planning on building 2-3 beefy "CustoMacs" to act as a render farm for FCP/FCPX. Before I buy all of the gear, I'd like to build my first Hackintosh on an old box(es) I have lying around. My logic is ... "Make mistakes with older gear befor investing in the new & shiny".

Here is what I have ...

Gigabyte P35C-DS3R
Intel CoreDuo E6550 @ 2.33GHz
8GB id G-SKill DDR2 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS video card.
Velociraptor 10K 150GB Boot drive (SATA)

This box is already assembled and running Windows 7. So, I know it works.

My questions are ...

1) Has anyone built this sort of rig before? I did a search here for the various components and did not find any builds. It looks like most of the builds here are newer mobo/procs.

2) Given this gear, is there a particular thread I should read to get me started.

I have successfully built my first Hackintosh with the kit described above. It pulled updates from Apple updates and I installed Compressor and iLife/iWork from the App store.

I cannot get over how easy you made this process. It was dead simple. Now that I have this proof of concept working, I'll be building out my Compressor render farm next week!
