Hi all,
I'm posting here because I've done something that I couldn't do if I haven't found this blog/forum.
First, thank you very much for your help TonyMacX.
Second, sorry for my bad english
Third, here is what i've done:
The mod: (More infos about it, here, in french but I can translate if you want)

The OS X Snow Leopard Installation and Specs:
MB: ASUS Maximus GENE III (P55)
CPU: Intel i5 750
GC: PNY GeForce 9800GTX+
HDD (1): Samsung 1To
HDD (2): WD Caviar 40Gb
Extra specs: 4Gb DDR3 Corsair / Keyboard & Mouse Apple / etc.
I've tried during a long time to make my "old" ATI HD4890 1Gb working, but no success with it (Using Kexts; GFXStrings, EFI Strings, etc...). So, I've sold it and buy a nVIDIA 9800GTX (PNY) which one works successfully. :-D
Now, i'm running (fully fonctionnal) my "Mac Pro" with a dual boot OS X/Win7.
My first step was to install Win 7 on the 2nd HDD (WD Caviar 40Gb, enough). I've simply install it on this HDD without plugging the 1st one. (Samsung 1To).
When Win7 was successfully installed, I've unplugged this 2nd HDD and plugged the 1st one to install OS X using TonyMacX method for P55 MB.
Here is what I've used to achieve this:
- Mac OS X Snow Leopard Retail DVD
- New TonyMacX86 iBoot CD (here)
- Tonymacx86's Multibeast (here)
- Combo upgrade 10.6. to 10.6.2 (here)
- Additionnal kext for my Network (RealtekR1000.kext, here)
And what I've done...
Boot with TonyMacX86 iBoot CD. When you reach the menu, remove the Boot CD and insert the SL Retail DVD then, hit F5.
Select "Install OS X" and ... install it Installation will fail, it's normal.
Insert back TonyMacX86 iBoot CD and select Snow Leopard HDD (the one you've just installed )
When you reach the desktop, reboot with the iBoot CD.
When it's done; launch Multibeast. Install everything as it's explained here.
As Tony says, that's all folks!!!
Everything works right (QE/CI - Sleep - Sound - USBs - FWs - etc.)
I just had to add RealtekR1000 in Extra/Ext. folder. to make my network card working.
If you have any question, I'd be very happy to help you.
Regards & good luck.
PS: sorry for the wrong category and large pictures.
