Finished building my computer last night! Other than a strange problem with the power switch in my case not being able to power on my computer, everything runs smoothly and fits nicely in the Antec 200. There's plenty of space for everything including my Hyper 212 Plus.

I tested turning on my computer with a different switch and it turned on without a problem. I am going to replace the switch after work with one from another case. The reset button does the same thing, but I am not even going to bother with fixing the reset button since I'll never use it.

I still have to install Snow Leopard on the computer later today after work, but Windows 7 installed in 15 minutes! I'll post back later when I get a chance to install Mac.

Did you connect the front panel buttons to the correct Motherboard connections?

A base install of Win 7 without Software Update also took me 15 minutes.

Ok now I'm confused...
Did you guys all:
pop in the DVD
reformat the drive
fully install Windows 7
?
Because that takes me 45 minutes.

I think they either: Have a better DVD drive, or, start with a formatted HD.

Actually.. I think I know why..
When Windows 7 starts, it takes me about 10-15 minutes to get to this image:

And 10-20 minutes of time waiting on this image:

Is that normal? That's probably what's slowing down the install. The reformat only took me about 10 seconds.

Something must be wrong with your system.

I helped a friend from school install Windows 7 on his new computer a few months ago. I know that he has a Gigabyte motherboard, but I don't remember which model. It took forever for the Windows installer to load and install but after that, his computer ran fine. I suppose that there is an issue with the Windows 7 installer and some Gigabyte motherboards. It also may depend on system configuration.

Also, I have high scale Blu-Ray combo drive with a fast DVD read speed. That may have helped with improving the installation speed.
