    Hallo,
I have an Imac 27" 2009 with 3.06ghz, and it's so slow with Adobe CSuite 2015 and at boot.

I've discovered again Hackintosh thanks to this good article on Medium:
    https://medium.com/swlh/building-my-1-200-hackintosh-49a1a186241e#.pdz2buwnm
then I read about installation and the different build of Hack Pro 2013.

Basically I am going to create a hackintosh near to the 2013 baseline Mac Pro (3,7 ghz, quad core model)
with a fast storage PCIE. A fast machine but with not too much core or ram. (with similar geekbench score)

The second issue is to use the actual imac 27 2009at full resolution: I've read that using a GPU with
a Display port, with the Apple adapter, it should work.

Here the setup chosen from the building advice:

    Processor: Intel i7–6700K 4ghz (or an i3 3.7?)
    RAM: 16 GB - 2400 mhz DDR4 (ballistic)
    Motherboard: GA-H170N-WIFI
    Archive: Samsung SM951 M.2 512GB (not bootable?)
Archive alt: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB
GPU: .................... (a thin gpu that support 2500px imac 27")
    TP link wifi
Power: Corsair CS 550 Watt (it's enough?)
Fans: Prolimatech Samual 17 on processor +
Noctua NF-A15 PWM 150mm Fan at top

    Thanks

    -----------------------------

A plus: the case: I found this 3D model in forum that seem good:
    https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/3d-printed-mini-itx-mac-pro-late-2013.166074/
    Someone used it?
I've seen also the other build created from the trashcan!

Don't buy Corsair CS series. They are quite bad. Go for Corsair CX550m, one of the best in this price range.

Regarding the storage, I think that 850 Evo is more hassle free.

For the gpu, buy a GTX 960/970/980/980ti, they will support every resolution you need, and will work very good with Adobe suite.

PA: why buying a mother board with WiFi integrated and then buy a pcie wifi card?

    Hi, thanks
I choosen the corsair from the Buyer guide, then I "downgraded" to 450 in amazon emulating the mac pro...
I forgot The case: i don't know if try a "Trashcan" with my first Hackintosh.
I found this very nice case: It's not in buyer guide...
Thermaltake Core V1 Case PC Mini, Nero
    https://www.amazon.it/dp/B00MJSV9Y2/?tag=tonymacx86com-21

    The 960 it's 40cm don't fit in this case.
But what about this one? EVGA GTX 750 Ti SC(I've found Max Digital : 4096x2160 in product description)

I read in summary of CustoMac Mini
"Please note, the included Intel m.2 card includes both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth but only the bluetooth features are available under macOS..." o_O

    @nunziantimo: Alternative to the GA-Z170N-WIFI?

There is some other mini-Itx motherboard from Gigabyte without WIFI and installing "noobproof"?

Take a look at the Buyer's Guide, they are all noobproof.

If you need wifi, don't use the one on the mother board, just buy an original Mac card, so you will also have handoff and continuity (if you have an iPhone and need these)

Thanks for the idea, but I don't use Handoff probably because I've a non compatible Mac :)
I see that the Airport Extreme are cheaper, but the mSata adapter can be problematic...

Hi nunziantimo, today I've read completely the thread about the Juanlobob Mac Pro build, and I see that you've done a Mac Pro 2013 build!

I am taking courage and I decided to create a build "trashcan-Lunar" based.

As a summary theese are all the 2013 build I've found, with respective creator:

Basically the build will be (in my intent) a compromise between the Juanlobo/nunziantimo build and the Misterlobo/klausi13 build.

I will try also a Samsung SM951 SSD 950 PRO m.2 as second HD, and I will connect a minidisplay cable inside to theMSI GeForce GTX 760 Gaming ITX instead of an HDMI extender (for native use with imac 27" 2009).

So, this is the update build advice:
    Processor: Intel® Core™ i3-6100 3.7Ghz
    RAM: 16 GB - 2133 mhz DDR4 (crucial, cheaper)
    Motherboard: GA-H170N-WIFI
    Archive: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB
    Archive 2: Samsung SM951 M.2 128GB (test x m.2 support, after test for booting)
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 760 Gaming ITX
Wifi: TP-Link TL-WN881ND (cheaper than the 450 in buyer guide, i take this risk!)
Fans GPU: Arctic Alpine 11 Plus (no fan)
Fans case: Noctua NF-A15 PWM 150mm
    Power: Silverstone ST45SF-G
Case: Lunar trashcan, is so cheaper from Germany...

(Note: I am based in Italy, so all the components will be ordered from EU ebay or amazon store.)

In next days I will order the components.
If some expert member see some compatible alternative, let's me know! :)

I am also from Italy lol tbh i3 is such a downgrade from the i7. Just go for a i5 6500, it's way better than the i3 (maybe you will find it not enough for your tasks)

Ah, ok, the i3 @3.7ghz it's so economic!
    What about thei3-6320@3.9ghz?
I am looking for a "fast and budget" solution that match the Mac Pro 2013 baseline geekbench.

    The purpose:
This Hack Pro will be used with PSD/AI/INDD, and sometime After Effects, but NO gaming and No 3D.
Basically it's an experiment to see how fast can be MacOs at startup with SSD or m.2 ssd!

    Update:
finally I've close the ordering phase. I've bought the item from the amazon referral link except than for the GTX 960.
The cost should be 893€, because I go cheap with the I3-6100.
But at the moment I don't need a monster, I can upgrade in future with a I7.6700k, when it will be affordable.

(Lego Technic. I will try, in the first phase, to connect all and test on a temporary Lego case!)

Now I am waiting the amazon Drone, that in Italy is a postino with Peugeot Scooter! :beachball:

I don't bought yet the Wifi card. If I buy an old Airport card 802 abc, I will have native support also if it's not in Buying advice?

I am looking for the power button: I found this very similar to the Mac Pro 2013 button.
Or this one with cable from UK.
But I am absolutely not confident with the electric cables!

There is a tutorial about power button and cable?
