Must I supply power to FireWire card if units plugged into it already have power?

I'm currently in the hunt for a FireWire Card so I'll be able to do pro-audio on a HP 4530s (A7K07UT)

I've read on this site that you need to add a power supply, but I'll be using it with an audio interface (TC Electronics Impact Twin) and a hard drive (WD MyBook) that both already have their own power supplies. I shouldn't need to supply additional power, right? Or do I need an additional power supply to power the actual card?

Thanks,
Rob

No, the onboard power of your connected device will power the unit. FW will just be data.

Thanks. Somebody said they had to get an expensive AC adapter to power their audio interface... mustn't have had it's own power supply... one less thing to have to worry about.
