I tracked the drums with a Pro Tools rig, and an old Trident console. then transferred them to 2" tape for warmth and harmonic distortion. The rest of the CD was done with Logic Audio. I didn't work much on the Logic tracking stuff as I was making the learning curve from Cubase at the time. Not a bad drum sound, if I do say so myself...

The best Audio setup for a hack for recording is a Presonus audio box series. Either a Audiobox one or the new VSL series. Plug it in and it works, no need for drivers and set up. Best Recording software Studio 2 Professional by Presonus. Sound is routed correctly for virtual instruments and live mics, vocals, guitars ect. All effects are drag and drop. All virtual instruments are drag and drop. Cubase, Sonar, Reason ect you can't do that. You have a list of setup routines to do to hear anything. Not Studio 2 !!! Best setup to use for the Noob to the 35 year vet like me !!! Logic is not logical in how it runs ...... Garageband is nice for noobs. You want to sound/be pro, go for Studio 2 !!!! Check out any Presonus gear up against the M-Audio crap for build quality, frequency response, driver updates ect, you will see M-Audio/Avid is just crap gear. Same for Mixingboards. The Presonus Live Boards are fast becoming industry standard. Fantastic Boards !!!

Also, I have a silly question, I'm really, really NooB, I've used Windows all my life.

The first thing I bought, even before I bought the hardware, was the retail Snow Leopard 10.6.3 DVD ($30), and once built my hackintosh and it was up and running, I downloaded Lion from the AppStore (another $30) and I've install it 2 hours ago and.....
it's working!!! :headbang:

The one thing I realize 15 min later was that GarageBand is not included, What?! :banghead:

I've used GarageBand on my iPad2 and on my iPhone 4s, so I was very excited to use it on my built, but ...

So... how can I get it, I understand it's included in iLife, then, can I download it from App Store like I did for Lion? :?:

I've found options to Upgrade to GarageBand '11 but I don't have a previous version, also I found information that it's included in iLife, but I'm not sure if that's available in App Store, I can't find it.

Any help or orientation on this would be appreciated... and Let the Music Play

iLife '11 may only be available as separate downloads of all the apps from App store. I was fortunate enough to have bought a retail iLife DVD when it was still available. :)

GarageBand is only included on Apple's Macs. As soon as Apple rolls a new X.0 version, you have to buy the update.

But the good news is that it's only $15(!) USD on the Mac App Store for all your personal/family Macs! I paid ~$50 USD for the iLife 11 Family Pack a while ago.

So, I recommend you just purchase GB from the MAS for $15. What a deal.

Just finished some long-overdue cleaning & organizing of my studio, so now it's safe to take some pics  BTW, my Hac is in the room directly below this room to minimize machine noise:
