Comment

Currently, there are no issues reported regarding this system. Thunderbolt 3 (downwards compatible) is working perfectly with Apollo interfaces of the first (Apollo Twin silver, TB2), second (Apollo Twin black, TB2) and third generation (Apollo x16, TB3). iCloud, audio, etc., is working just fine. It is worth mentioning that this system configuration requires a separate Windows 10 installation to be able to install and get Thunderbolt working on macOS. Before I power on my Hackintosh, I already turned on my Apollo interfaces so I avoid any Thunderbolt issues.

@KingBfire, I have a ASUS HERO X with the ASUS ThunderboltEX3. Unfortunately, only the "pass though" monitor works from the Thunderbolt port. Please show your BIOS Thunderbolt settings and any other settings you changed to get your Thunderbolt 3 peripherals to work. TIA.

@Stork, I simply plugged the card in after installing the drivers on WIN10. I directly updated the card's firmware to its latest version. I attached photos of my BIOS settings. I was astonished about the range of options for adjustments regarding the Thunderbolt card - I am not a BIOS/PC Hardware geek so I just did some basic adjustments. Maybe not important - but i will tell you anyway: the first plug in action was done in WIN10 that usually asks you to allow the connection with the certain device when it is connected the first time. Maybe that simply did the job. After that I could use the devices without any issues in both OS when I turn them on before the system boot.

Hi,
I'm planning this same build. Can you sleep and wake the computer?

I will be installing the Asus Thunderbolt card too, any particular PCIe slot for the card?
I was told to install it at the last slot. All the USB port works?
Would you mind to share your EFI file?

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply.

@PicLock : Use the last PCIe slot next to the TB_header - the cable is not very long so that position would be the best. You will see what I mean after opening the Asus ThunderboltEX package with its components ;)

All USB ports are working - otherwise I would have mentioned it in my report.

I am currently not in the studio so I can not provide the EFI right now. Maybe at the end of the week if you still need it then. But nothing fancy going on there - all you really need to know is mentioned in my report.

I ordered a z370-a 10 days ago but they say they won't get stock before 6 more weeks.
I see a Asus Z370-A mark II, I wonder what are the differences and if I should get this one, cause I won't wait another 6 weeks to start building my new machine.
