Two questions:

Does front panel audio work off the UD2 motherboard?

and

Is it possible to configure the 6 back panel jacks to that more than one audio in and audio out are working?

I'd like to attach my speakers to one port and use others for my headset with microphone.
As it seems now there can be only one in and one out active.

Try the LegacyHDA kext in my signature. It has everything working except front mic. Headphone switching, etc... I'm going to update all of them when we figure out what's up with Apple's upcoming 10.6.3.

Thanks Tony but maybe I didnt describe the problem very well.

My audio is working just fine and I'm using that kext now the problem is that there is no way to have multiple output ports/jacks on at once. Lets say I have my speakers connected to one port and my headphones to another. I cant have both ports putting out sound.

On the Windoze 7 side the RealTek Audio Controls let you task each port to whatever you want (Front speakers, Back speakers, side speakers, Center channel, headphones etc.)

Ah, misunderstood. Well- take a look into the Utilities folder and Audio Midi Setup- can you set outputs there? I've never done any multichannel audio from there before. There is a way to do it in that panel, but I've only ever really used a few of them separately. I have a USB audio device as well.

You might get better 5.1 support using VoodooHDA- I've heard it maps that functionality. Also, there have been people who swear by the modified AppleHDA method- that it's far more complete than the LegacyHDA edits that we're working with currently.

I didnt even know thats what the Audio Midi Setup did but alas its not functioning for our boards.

According to an article on setting up 5.1 surround sound we should be able to assign each output to a different channels.

Sadly they are grayed out and unavailable.
Hopefully this is something some ingenious Hackintosh specialist will take on.

We've made some progress with 5.1 here: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=525

I'm sure we'll all have it- just a matter of time. ;)
