I checked the Multibeast.log and this is the issue:

"Install of 'Clover_v2.3k_r3423-UEFI.pkg' failed.

installer: installing at base path /
installer: The install failed (The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.)

'.Exiting."

No idea. It's been hell just to get this thing to install and now the post installation utility fails what the heck?

Here are my specs:
i7 6700
GTX 960
8GB DDR4
1 TB WD Blue
Gigabyte z170M-D3H

I went through the same issues with this mobo and a couple of days of frustration could only boot with -x. I found it was the bios settings went to this thread and followed his Z170 bios setup .

Used the easy to copy screen shots and made a few changes and bam the gigabyte Z170M-D3H suddenly becomes hackintosh friendly.

Sadly it didn't work. I'm lost at trying to get this to work.

I suspect the bios setting that made the actual difference was disabling the serial and parallel ports in the peripherals/super io config.

Double check those bios settings are as per those screen captures. I used the latest unibeast and also El Capitan 10.11.5 for my USB install. Also I hope you didn't try installing with the GTX960 in there, that all goes in after multibeast.

No, booting perfectly from the hdd. Before I changed the bios settings the only way to boot either the install usb or the main drive was in safe mode. I managed to install the relevant multibeast settings after putting the hdd into my old machine and doing it there. Put it back on the z170m-d3h exactly the same error when booting from the usb. Boots about half way error with nanoseconds... And chucks you back to the clover splash screen .

Made the changes to the bios and now the unibeast usb or installed drive can boot without interference.

Forgot to mention pushed the f7 button first in bios to get it back to default. Then went through each page and copied it exactly. The screen captures are from a different z170 ie no parallel port to disable do it anyway don't use it or serial. The legacy usb disabled also seems important.
