I've tried the few tweaks and workarounds and none of them seem to fix this problem. I went back to my 10.8 install, ran 5.1.2 and everything is still messed up with it. I did the update in the hope of fixing my sleep issues, but it's instead opened a whole other can of worms. I find once you try and fail the install, then other installers start failing too.
This thread was sort of hijacked (mea culpa) to dealing with P55 board issues. Legacy USB and FakeSMC issues don't apply to your GA-Z68A-D3H-B3.
More info please on the problems you're dealing with:
- Can you post your /var/log/install.log?
- In a previous post you mentioned a DSDT. Are you still using BIOS? In that post you have some errors I've not seen. Have you done a Repair Permissions on your disk lately?
- You mentioned you went back to a 10.8 install. Did you mean a clean install, and further 10.8 as opposed to 10.8.2? What OSX & MB versions are you currently running?
