Your issue is a bad IOUSBAttachedSCSI.kext
Dear MACMAN
IS there any solution to make USB mouse and keyboard get to work without selecting Legacy USB option (as i mentioned earlier properly edited DSDT of LAG 1156 Mobos in our database make problems in 10.8.xx USB mouse and keyboard not working) when selecting this MB failed to finish, or need a DSDT edit for 10.8.xx for 1156 boards.

Hello,

Thanks for very fast answer, however this is my first Hackintosh,

So when you wrote "Your issue is a bad IOUSBAttachedSCSI.kext"
I trust you 100 % :D

But I do not know what action it implies,

Is there a guide ?
From what I read : You do the first boot and install with Unibeast, then you reboot on thumb and do multibeast stuff. and you are done :)

I did not yet found where i can put command or action in between to allow multibeast not to fail like in my case.

Is there a pointer, page, guide ?
Where I can dig info on the course of actions I should take to fix this IOUSBAttachedSCSI.kext issue

[EDIT] I did found this file and other on my MacBookPro, should I put them on the thumb drive, boot on the unibeast drive then sudo copy them in /System/Library/Extensions ?

BTW I did install Unibeast with USB legacy mode. I unplug all USB peripherals except mouse and Keyboard (G19 logitech and razer naga)
should I redo my usb key without this legacy setting ? and restart the whole thing (bare install) ?

Many thanks in advance, great tools that you have built , I wonder how you gathrered the knowledge to turn PC into Macs !! amazing work !!

Please forgive my syntax I am French native speaker

chewbee,

You can follow the minimalist instructions I made on post #39 on this thread.

I ran into the same problem. Using Kextbeast will do a proper job.

Hello, thanks for this

I triied I would say it did not worked as expected, Apparently it worked So I rebooted BEFORE doing any multibeast stuff thinking one thing at a time

It boots but I do not have the mouse working in OSX So I am kind of stuck

Should I input any startup option now to be able to boot and do multibeast like a no failure boot ?

Many thanks in advance

What did you edit out from the log between these 2 lines:

Oct 17 18:35:28 localhost installd[3025]: PackageKit: ----- Begin install -----
Oct 17 18:35:43 localhost installd[3025]: PackageKit: Failed to move active dyld cache file

Somewhere in there is the name of the kext that is bad and preventing the kext cache from being updated.

I wish I could tell you, that was all that was in the log.

I updated through software update, then booted in safe mode, tried running MultiBeast 5.1.2, and received these failures.

I'm trying to boot back into my system but I can't.

EDIT: Here's the full installer log..

Chewbee,

Use startup option "-x" for Safe mode

Again, I had exactly the same problem as you. I solved my problem by going back to MultiBeast 5.0.2 for everything except Audio.

I sudo deleted the /Extra folder and FakeSMC.kext in /S/L/E. Ran MB 5.0.2 and selected the usual, minus Audio. It completed successfully.
------------------------------
*EDIT*

Usual MB 5.0.2= UserDSDT, Drivers->Disk->IOAHCIBlockStorage & 3rd Party eSata, Drivers->Network->Lnx2Mac, Customization->System Definitions->iMac->iMac11,1

For Audio & TRIM, use 5.1.1- NO UserDSDT. Drivers->Audio->Realtek->With DSDT->Realtek 889a, Drivers->Drivers->Disk->TRIM Enabler->10.8.1+ TRIM Patch

--------------------------------

Then, I fixed the audio by editing my DSDT.aml to change the layout id to 1. I ran MultiBeast 5.1.1 and selected only Audio -> With DSDT-> Realtek 889 (889a in your case)

Completed successfully. I rebooted, selected the Internal Speakers in the Sounds Pref Panel.

Done.

I took the liberty of looking at your profile and downloaded the DSDT from the database for a P55-UD5 (F10). I edited line 6842 from:

0x75, 0x03, 0x00, 0x00 to 0x01, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00

Here is the result ->View attachment DSDT.aml

Bon Chance!

I have not had time to test FakeSMC.kext from MultiBeast 5.1.2 to see if it is compatible with my motherboard.

*Update: FakeSMC.kext in MultiBeast 5.1.x has a problem, reboot-on-wake-from-sleep, but otherwise is O.K. to use AFAIK. Now, me thinks you will be O.K. to use MultiBeast 5.1.2 to install everything listed above. Be sure to use the edited DSDT in the attachment, and everything should work if you properly restored the Legacy USB kexts as outlined in Post #39 of this thread.

Thanks for your reply question. My system booted and ran fine, just not with the GT640 I wanted. My graphics card problem was solved by simply installing and running MultiBeast 5.1.1. I selected graphics enabler = no and I have a fully functioning GeForce GT640. I don't know why MultiBeast 5.1.0 or earlier versions did not work, but I won't "look a gift horse in he mouth". Now if I can only get sleep of ANY kind to work and get my hack to recognize my internal LG Blu-Ray drive, I will be a happy man. When I get those goals achieved, I mean to contribute to the site
