I tested as many DSDTs from the database for patching the layout-id I could without going thru all 541. So there may be some that my method for patching doesn't work. The good news is MultiBeast does write to install.log if can or can't find a valid layout-id and if it was successful in patching. For those cases you will have to edit them your self. You can either use DSDTse to decompile, edit and recompile or use Hex Fiend to patch the layout-id value. If anyone is interested in the Hex Fiend method I can do a post on how to do.

As for P55 testing, tonymacx86 and I each still have a P55 system. I didn't test on my P55-UD5 and I can't remember if tmx tested on his P55M-UD2. There is a possibility that Legacy USB doesn't work with 10.8.2, but it isn't needed when using a DSDT. As for the other issues we need to test on them.

Understood. Easy to see in the forums that X58/P55 are rapidly being replaced. Thanks to MultiBeast, I never really spent the time I should've to try vanilla and learn what's behind the curtain.

Just trying to make it to 2013, when the new Mac Pro + 2nd Gen TBolt mobos will (hopefully) give us a great platform. The P55 is quick enough, and expandable enough, but quirky.

Re: the internal disks flagged as external problem, installing IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext got it done. No change / improvement on the Reboot-on-Wake problem. I'll keep plugging away, if you have any ideas on where to look, and why the Pref Panel changed, much appreciated.

I have this same problem, where do I find my install.log?

Applications->Utilities->Console

In sidebar, inside /var/log, you'll find install.log

File->Save As (Or Save Selection As for a portion of the log)...

Failed to install MB 5.1. The worst is that I can't boot into my 10.8.1 normally and can only boot under safe mode (-x). I am stuck at "waiting for root device". Anyone can tell me how to rollback to MB 5.0.2 or fix this issue? I am using Z68P-DS3 v1.0 F9 and ATI6850.

MacMan,

In order to resolve the afore-mentioned reboot-on-wake problem that is reflected in the unusual Energy Saver pref panel, I ended up using MB 5.0.2 for everything but Audio, rebooting, installing Audio & Trim from 5.1.1 on a clean install of 10.8.2 (+supp) using Uni 1.5.3.

Now everything works great, including sleep-on-idle, wake, all Audio ports... except FakeSMC plugins and USB 3, which I don't use anyway.

Hoping this will make it a bit easier for you and Tonymacx86 to sort MB 5.1+ for us P55 users.

Thanks

I have the same issue with Multibeast failing.

Was working fine in 10.8.1 had audio and everything working. I then upgraded to 10.8.2 and realised my audio had stopped working (no audio output device showing), so i tried to run multibeast again to install support for the ALC898 but every time it fails.

I have attached my install.log from multi beast. Hope somebody can tell me where its going wrong.

My system specs are
Z77X-UP5 TH
3770k
GTX670

Did you run UserDSDT on a system that already had MultiBeast 5.0 UserDSDT run previously?
