Old build was getting on in age. The G5 case was really annoying. Hard drive slow.
So a new build was needed. Saw the Z97i ACK had just come out, so thought id give it a go.

Only just set it up but so far its working brilliantly.
Installed 10.10.2 with unibeast. Only flag needed was -no-zp.
Using Clover UEFI only to boot, with pike r. alpha's audio support (with clover layout id injection), mieze's killer network kext and fakesmc kexts.

What works (so far)

Lan
Audio (alc1150, see toleda's detailed threads)
Bluetooth? (it shows up in sys info, scans etc, but cant find my phone. havent attached antennas yet though :shifty: )
Sleep (timed and forced)
Speedstep

What doesn't (that i know of)
WIFI (doesn't work oob. could always change the card i spose)

For bios settings, see http://www.tonymacx86.com/bios-uefi/143167-msi-9-series-motherboards-os-x-setup-configuration.html

overall its a really nice board. as a bonus looks really nice in my case alongside the gtx670 with the same black/red colour scheme. still want to fine tune the setup so will update the thread accordingly.

So even with the right patches/kexts wifi won't work? Or is there a chance it will work? And how did u get LAN to work(what kext did you use) and overall it is a good board because I am thinking of building my hackintosh with this board

The wifi card is a NGFF (M.2) card. The only M.2 wifi card I've read that works with OS x is the Broadcom BCM94352Z, with which you could buy and replace the killer wifi card.

So you've gotta pay a lot more than a mini PCIe board for wifi to work with this board. could the Killer wifi card on the board already work one day? I don't know. never say never with this scene.

LAN i used Mieze's Atheros kext

Its a good board.

@kduvernay, cheers bro

Hi, I have the same board!

Have noticed that the Killer 1525 Wifi is now slowly making it's way into the linux kernel/ath10 driver. So in a few weeks should be possible for someone to get it over to OS-X...

good too see a working build with this motherboard! looking to switch out from my Gigabyte GA-Z87N-WIFI - it's freezing way too often on Windows 7 for me to do anything. Mac's been working flawlessly, tho, especially after switching the bootloader to Clover from Multibeast.

I have a Windows machine currently with a pretty similar configuration and looking at turning it into a hackintosh. Just wondering if it's still going, and, if so, is it running Mojave? Any tips for getting it setup and running smoothly? Thanks in advance.
