We've just received some more motherboards for testing: two of MSI's latest Z170 gaming models for Skylake. The Z170A Gaming M7 and the Z170A Krait Gaming. These boards are packed full of great features for the gaming enthusiast including special settings in BIOS for individual game settings and overclock tweaking.

The Gaming M7 includes Qualcomm/Atheros 'Killer' ethernet, while the Krait Gaming has Intel i219V. They both include Realtek ALC 1150 onboard audio and will be eventually supported by OS X when Skylake support is native.

We'll be testing using these boards, but in the meantime here are some pictures:

I've got the MSI Z170A Krait Gaming(doesn't say M5 or M7)
@shakakoa what was your Unibeast setup to be able to install El-Capitan?
I've used the Asus thread and it crashes about 2/3 of the way to booting El-Capitan install

Thanks

Any thunderbolt 3.0?
Since we’re talking about Hackintoshes, Thunderbolt 3 isn’t as important. Modern Macs don’t have room for GPUs, but most Hackintoshes have plenty of room for GPUs. Thunderbolt is mainly useful for eGPUs in my experience. If you’re just transferring data, USB 3 should be fine, especially since hard drives can’t spin fast enough for a faster interface. At first I was rather irritated with Apple for focusing on Thunderbolt instead of USB 3 in 2011 (when my 13” MBP was made), but then I changed my mind when I got my eGPU in January.

Lots of audio pros use Thunderbolt audio interfaces and video pros use it for large, fast storage that USB 3 can not provide.

there is a lot of things that thunderbolt is used for like my friend's huge RAID 5 Array that is using software RAID 0 it is crazy fast but if you don't have good hardware you can't take advantage of the speeds. There is also a lot of things that people use thunderbolt for like in example a lot of audio equipment also use thunderbolt because its fast.
