Has anyone tried to put an mSATA SSD "drive" in the WWAN (full size) mini PCIe slot in the Probook 4530s?
Is the drive then recognised? Are there restrictions like for the BT/Wifi card so it has to be some specific HP part (I guess not but you never know).

How does one go about 'moving' the directories to a HDD after installing on the SSD like for downloads etc. as I plan to just buy a small 32 or 64GB mSATA SSD...?

Thanks!!!

No, it wouldn't work as mSATA and PCI Express uses different signalling.

You would be able to fit a mini PCI Express SSD, but they're generally 1. not bootable 2. expensive 3. slow and 4. only available in 4-64GB.

Here's an example of what would potentially work http://www.amazon.com/Super-Talent-2PCI-E-SATA2-FPM32GLSE/dp/B002EJ3HQO and it's pretty much as good as it gets.

It's a mute point at this stage. I opened'r up and well.... she don't have no darn mini PCIe or WWAN socket!!! I bet there are models that have it as the soldering points are there.
Oh well... just have to fiddle with something else then...!! :D
