I'm sort of a noob in this area but I checked /S/L/E and found a file named GenericUSBXHCI.kext
also, in IORegistryExplorer, I have a PS2K and a PS2M section, both replicating the keyboard/mouse. Is the kext I mentioned in the /S/L/E folder the correct thing to delete or is that the one I need to keep?

My laptop is the 4530s

No, it's kext for USB 3.0.

Do an EC reset may help your touchpad keyboard problem.

My KB Mouse also hangs sometimes. What's an EC reset ?

What is "KB Mouse"? Is that a specific brand/manufacturer of mouse?

For EC reset, use search.

Sorry :D I meant my keyboard and mouse.

Are you referring to an internal or external keyboard?

And what brand/model of mouse are you using? Which USB port is it plugged into? Or is it a bluetooth mouse?

Do you have 3rd party software drivers ? Like usboverdrive or steermouse?

Wasn't this a known issue, when sometimes internal keyboard&trackpad would not respond at startup?

It actually happens to me as well sometimes , but in rare occasions. I just reboot and everything works again

OP is talking about a mouse, not trackpad...

Let the OP untangle a bit.
