Hi everyone,

I was able to install Mountain Lion on my rig. I was even able to load Mountain Lion installation booting via the USB stick installer.

Do note however, that the only change I did with my USB stick is that I added the kext VoodooTSCSync.kext to Extra/Extensions folder of the USB. Because without it, the rig will boot but randomly and frequently stutters during the entire session of that OSX boot (be it OS installation until OS loading off the HDD). More explanation is on this thread:

However, I need help on what settings do I need to consider when installing Multibeast.

Specs of my rig are as follows:
Asus P9X79 Pro (2002 BIOS @ stock speed)
i7 3930k
2x 8gb DDR3 1600
2x GTX 680 in SLI

Hoping for kind souls to help me with this as I am confused which settings to choose.

Thanks in advanced and more power :)

Working Mountain Lion with P9X79 Pro

Hi.

I have the same motherboard as you and most things works quite well with Mountain Lion. I had some problems installing it with Snow Leopard, but found this guide:

http://legacy.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=264&t=57962&start=0&hilit=p9x79

I followed the selections in Mulitibeast like in the thread above. The only thing I did different was the audio. Use ALC898 instead of ALC 892.

I Think I have an issue with iCloud (Airplay, sync documents, bookmarks etc), but I have not spend any time to see if this is correct.

Thank you very much for the guide you posted. :)

May i know the videocard you're using on your rig? Coz I saw from the guide you referred me, it's using a gtx 580. i wonder if the FakeSMC plugins might be incompatible with gtx 680, especially in SLI.

Uhm, I did not saw from the thread on any references to ALC898... Should it be ALC888?

bump...

Now with Multibeast 5.0 out, anyone can guide me an updated list of settings in it that I need to make sure the installation works? :)
