Mountain Lion: MultiBeat - No Audio/Solutions and Problem Reporting

Oh right but this one does display all the Ports as far as i know.
I am trying to get HDAU tool to work on windows but thats like trying to get water out of a rock.

So there is nothing that we could do to modify this kext and then get sound working ?

EDIT: I have Microsofts HDAU Tool now working showing everything to do with my 892.

Now i can view a topology of the sound card. Now this might be usable. Will save everything Codec wise from windows with topology etc and upload that info.

EDIT2: Right i have uploaded the files.

Install HdauSetup_x64.msi then run the select File Load Save Codec and select the 892.xml then hit yes. That will show everything for my ALC892 Codec that might help better then the linux dump.

If you can install HDAUSetup_x64.msi because your on 32bit search in google for HDAUSetup.msi its a msdn.microsoft.com link you need to download from and do the same.

Hope this helps.

There is a .reg with pinconfigs and a .dat as well.

Hi mate right work this one out. I have managed to get the internal mic working but its also showing internal speakers in the input area. No sound as yet but i am getting there.

So there is yet time where i can get it all working which would be great. When i get it working will let you know if you want a IOReg i can do that tonight.

But so far i have

Code:
Built-in Microphone:

  Default Input Device:	Yes
  Input Channels:	2
  Manufacturer:	Apple Inc.
  Current SampleRate:	44100
  Transport:	Built-in

Built-in Audio:

  Input Channels:	2
  Manufacturer:	Apple Inc.
  Current SampleRate:	44100
  Transport:	Built-in

Built-in Speaker:

  Manufacturer:	Apple Inc.
  Output Channels:	2
  Current SampleRate:	44100
  Transport:	Built-in

Built-in Headphone:

  Default Output Device:	Yes
  Default System Output Device:	Yes
  Manufacturer:	Apple Inc.
  Output Channels:	2
  Current SampleRate:	44100
  Transport:	Built-in

and

Code:
Audio ID:	1

Internal Microphone:

  Connection:	Internal

Headphone:

  Connection:	1/8-Inch Jack

Line Output:

  Connection:	1/8-Inch Jack

External Microphone / iPhone Headset:

  Connection:	1/8-Inch Jack

Line Input:

  Connection:	1/8-Inch Jack

Speaker:

  Connection:	Internal

S/PDIF Optical Digital Audio Output:

  Connection:	Optical

So its only pins now to resolve and get the sound working by my reading. Which if i remember right is layout1.xml and platforms.xml

Thanks for showing the way.

PS:

Used the following to get it working so far

Code:

Hi Toleda,

Hopefully you or one of the many other helpful people on this forum can shed some light on this one......... (I'm ready to pull my hair out... Haha)

I am having issues getting audio on an ALC892 chipset. My specs are as follows:

Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4
Intel i7 3930K
64GB 1600MHz DDR3
Nvidia GT9500 1GB Video

I have everything running perfect except for the audio. I am currently not using a DSDT, only kexts and enablers. I have tried several different Kext's and your optimizedHDA is the only one that actually allows an audio device to show up under the Sound Preferences pane (Although still no audio from any ports). However, I have tried multiple others (including the Ivy Bridge Alpha) and most of them show up in System Profiler, but not in Sound Preferences. I have attached screenshots and my IOReg. Hopefully you guys might have some ideas....

Thanks

Seems its now just MSI 892 that has the issue same boat as you mate.

Known problem, see note 3 of Unsupported/Non Working Audio ML Optimized AppleHDA in Mountain Lion: Optimized AppleHDA for Realtek ALC8xx. The good news is an X79 success. Extract and attach your dsdt. [GUIDE] Creating your own DSDT for most boards

Without better feedback, making suggestions has not been worthwhile. Previously, you had internal speakers and headphones working. Now you only have internal microphone working. Correct? For a device to work, the pathmap and pinconfig have to be correct.

Internal mic (pinconfigs - 1271d09 01271c40 01271d00 01271ea3 01271f99) is working with (pathmap - 9-34-18). Edit info.plist and platforms.xml to just those values and verify.

If your documentation is correct, these worked:
Headphone (01471C10 01471D40 01471E21 01471F01) and (20-12-2) Test with working mic.
Internal Speaker (01B71C70 01B71D00 01B71E13 01B71F90) and (27-12-2) Test with working mic.

It is easier to add tests to a working configuration. Half the pins you have included do not work and never will.

Leave Line In (1A) for now and delete the rest of the pin configs.

If you don't want to use the MultiBeast/ALC892, you can delete all but layout1.xml.zlib in the native AppleHDA.kext.

Thanks man for reply. I got the internal mic working with stock AppleHDA.kext with just editing the info.plist and layout i have removed all the others currently. Also reading the howto on here for pin configs etc. i will get there in the end it just going to take time for me thats all. Did you get my PM.
