Dear colleagues,

having the following problem: OS X shows incorrectly the following values:

- CPU frequency;
- Video memory size.

About CPU freq. I have Core i5 overclocked up to 4.6 GHz (sometimes I overclock it up to 4.7GHz). But OS X shows me 4.3 GHz only.
BIOS settings:
- multiplier 46x
- turbo core ratio: 1 core - 47, 2 - 47, 3 - 47, 4 - 46
- custom SSDT created (based on Greggen's one).

About Video RAM total size. My MB allows me to choose video memory size. I have 8 GB RAM installed. I chose 1024 MB RAM for graphics and Windows successfully see it but OS X does not. It shows me 512 MB at most.

Who knows the problems' cause and solution?

Thanks!

If the HD 3000 is anything like the HD 4000, the Apple driver allocates the amount of vRAM based on your total RAM. Standard advice is to leave the vRAM set to 64 MB in the BIOS, which is enough to get through the boot process. Then the Apple driver takes over.

512 MB vRAM with 8 GB RAM is what I have on my HD 4000 system.

yes. It's true that apple driver allocates VRAM based on the total RAM size. e.g.
for 2 GB RAM we have 384MB of VRAM
for 4+ GB RAM we have 512MB of VRAM.

I'm curious on how to override it?
