Motherboard Plugins Freeze

Has anyone found a definitive solution to bootup freeze that occurs if you install fakeSMC and Motherboard plugins with 10.8.2? I keep hitting the freeze, so I am not using the plugins, but I run an over clocked rig so I would really like access to my sensors. I've read about deleting the OemSmBios.kext from inside fakeSMC.kext, but I've heard that it still causes problems. Is this true? Should I just live without the sensors for now?

This is on a Ga-z68MX 2500k and 6850 build.

I tried deleting the fakeSMC kext as above, and it didn't work. I cannot boot if I install motherboard plugins.
