Keep in mind- this is a game/experiment to find the most powerful parts- I don't think this would be worth the money. :)

Just these components alone would cost: $6,579.94

Then you'd need power supply, hard drive(s) and case.

Just a drop in the bucket... :p

Lets see...a $6600 super computer or a trip on the Rhine with my spousal unit? Which would be better? Hmmmm.

I may be a Rocket Scientist, but I'm not stupid!

My new System ... haha

The only thing is, if it will. V :?: actually run as a hackintosh?

You Rock Man!

As far as I know, everything here is compatible for OS X. I've not tried dual LGA 2011 personally, but there is kernel support for these CPUs.

I would think dual 6870's would actually be faster due to the HORRIBLE OpenGL performance of nVidia cards in OSX right now. A 570 only benches about 30FPS in Cinebench, whereas a 6870 does about 55ish.

Cinebench is broken and outdated- try LuxMark or Heaven after OpenCL- the NVIDIA cards perform much better.
