Monterey’s memory leak and how to avoid it
How this memory leak probably occurs, which apps it affects, and what you can do to avoid it completely.

Summary: Using new Monterey Accessibility custom pointer features, such as size and outline, may eat gigs of RAM, causing system to choke.
Problem associated with apps which do lots of pointer switches, e.g., Firefiox / arrow to i-beam pointer transitions.
Workaround: Disable custom pointer features until patched in future macOS.
