the whole thing about kexts here or there is just the same thing as SSDT vs the port limit patch
basically it comes down to personal preference in most cases
a person might prefer the SSDT method but might not know how to get the job done
then that person would not have any other choice but to use the port injector
as much as that person will love to use the SSDT method
so you also have to take knowledge under consideration
another thing is exactly what jay monkey explained
which is true, I been building hackintosh for more than 10 years
and not all systems are all the same
so the first rule a hackintosh builder has to learn is exactly what jaymonky said
what works in one system might not work in another
don't think because I'm saying this I'm against or anything like that
also I don't know why you called me "masochist"
but is all good I'm not going to get mad just because of that
in my case the detect method works perfectly fine on my build
so I use that one because I believe is the right way to do it
yes there is big possibility that I might be wrong
but since is working fine then there is no reason why I shouldn't continue to use it
so is like i said before is just a matter of personal preferences or what the person thinks it works better for them
this is not about one being easier than the other
but if I can't make one work then I have to use the other
as long as I can use one of the 2 then is fine
I might not be the prefer method but I can also be used as a temporary fix
until the person managed to get the other method working
then the person can switch to the one they like, once they get it to work
so as you can see there are always alternatives, no one can forced someone to do something one way
unless that is the only way to do it
if there is more than one way then the person has a choice
let the person decide, you have you personal preference but you have to respect the other person way of thinking even if you think or consider that person to be wrong
in your case maybe the detect method didn't work for you
but it works for me and also works for others
the same way it might not work for others the same way it didn't work for you

I only made a few questions about the patches
once is clear that there is a 3 set patch
then the users can easily add the patch to clover and they can decide
how and where they want to install the kexts
in my case i install them to L/E but I didn't tell others to install them there or do it that way
they can install it whatever they like
no problem
