MacMan's patched the Darwin 11.3.0 source for support for Ivy Bridge CPUs. We don't have access to the CPUs yet, as they're not available in the normal places til April 29th.

IF YOU'D LIKE TO TEST, POST YOUR SYSTEM SPECS AND CPU MODEL HERE AND WE'LL SEND YOU THE LINK.

When we're satisfied that it's working properly, we'll release it into the Downloads section.

EDIT: Yay- we''ve got confirmation of the kernel working! I'll be expanding the testing today. If you respond to this thread- look for a PM from me. We'll be releasing the kernel shortly.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H
RAM: 2 x 4GB G.Skill Ares (1866Mhz XMP ready)
SSD: OCZ Vertex 3 120GB (for OSes only)
HDD: Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB (for everything else)
Graphics: Gigabyte ATI 6870
PSU: Corsair AX850

Some of the local stores were selling the CPUs yesterday. Managed to pick out the model I wanted.

Also I'd love to help, I'm just warning you this is my first hackintosh, so I'll be slow as I go through the learning process.

Plan to update my build to a i7-3770k cpu with an Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe board.

This will be combined with my current build components (XFX 6870, 16 GB Corsair vengeance RAM)

I just built my Ivy system as following:
MB: GA-B75M-D3H
CPU: E 1230 V2(Ivy Bridge)
Ram: 1600 4gx2
Display card: HD6450
Operation system: Windows7

I can test this patched kernel.

16gb ddr3 ram
intel 520 120gb ssd


Was already frustrated that i had to install windows, i tried the unibeast installer, crashed immediately after the apple logo appeard.. Ooh im so excited!

ain't gonna happen without the patched kernel, i had the same with my 3570k, immediate crash
