The Build
The idea of the build came from having a beautiful Apple Cinema Display I used to use with my PowerMac G4s. It's been sitting unused for a few years now due to the proprietary Apple Display Connector (ADC). Basically all I needed was a new desktop and a DVI to ADC adapter in order to use with a generic graphics card.

I'm also a musician- mostly mess around on Logic with my Hammond and Novation keyboards, so I have a super budget Behringer interface. I would definitely recommend something nicer for fine production. Ideas for interfaces here.

This build is a Haswell spare parts rig based around a Asrock Z97 ITX motherboard, a Core i3 CPU, and a GeForce GTX 550 Ti graphics card. It's a very standard install based on UniBeast and MultiBeast post-installation only.

The Installation

BIOS Setup
I'll edit this post with screenshots when I can- the settings are pretty much Optimized Defaults and reboot.

Making the UniBeast USB Thumb Drive
Use the tonymacx86 guide UniBeast: Install OS X Sierra on Any Supported Intel-based PC. Note: your USB Thumb drive needs to have 7.63 GB of free space to build the UniBeast installation thumb drive. Otherwise, you'll need a 16GB USB thumb drive which is a better size so you can load the following applications for use in the post installation phase:
:ch: MultiBeast for Sierra which you can probably put on a 8GB USB thumb drive, but that's about it
:ch: EFI Mounter V3
:ch: KextBeast
:ch: Clover Configurator for fine tuning

Installation Notes
This particular Asrock motherboard requires a special fix to use Clover's UEFI mode otherwise the SSD may not be visible as a boot option. The fix is to log into Clover's UEFI Shell and manually select Clover's .efi boot file. The method is expertly outlined here.

Summary
In summary, glad to be able to use this amazing Apple monitor with it's horrible proprietary Apple Display Connector!

How does the Apple Cinema Display look?

How does the Apple Cinema Display look?

Fantastic- although it may be a little dimmer than the newer monitor due to the old tech inside. The ADC adapter also contains a USB cable for the rear of the computer which allows use of the 2 USB ports in the monitor.

good work..

I had the same boot prob with asrock mobo..but didnt need to resort to the linux workaround,
with a simple tweak to efi folder..uefi boot is now up an working...
Now currently booting mavericks/sierra.

Mount EFI partition ,in EFI folder make new folder called ...Microsoft... and inside that make another folder..Boot...
paste the CLOVERX64.efi into Boot and rename to bootmgfw.efi

As my mobo booted uefi win10 standalone fine, i wondered if clover could do the same if i put it inside the Microsoft folder.
Seems my asrock mobo was looking for a reference to microsoft in its bios instructions .
By simply adding a folder and a file rename tricks it into loading clover bootmanager..

Tip...when upgrading to a newer version of clover bootloader i could not figure out why it would update succesfully,
but at reboot the bootmanager would always display the old version...after a few attempts i twigged
the cloverx64.efi file that was renamed to bootmgfw.efi and placed in efi\microsoft\boot folder needs to be deleted
and replaced with the new updated file from the clover folder...savvy
