MOBILE BEAST: A 2U CustoMac for video edit/render

Mobile Beast will be a screaming fast mobile capture/edit/render platform with the easy ability to offload rendered video to the client at an events. The unit will be rack-mounted with other production gear and shipped around, so stability/durability is required.

Proposed component list below and discussion of components can be found here. This project was inspired by gbevin's "GigBox" (my name, not his) for live music production/performance, which can be found here and here.

This post will be a "blog" where I breakdown the build as it happens and post results.

*** May bump to 32GB as mobo supports it. Not sure it is worth it.
*** Most half-height video cards are not up video rendering load. Is this one? Dicussion here ...
*** No half-height bracket, so their will be some hacking.
*** Open to suggestions on netter SSD drive value.

This thread will be the blog! I have a busy couple of weeks. So, look for the build to begin in mid-August.
