I started to have trouble with my ADATA S510 SSD. It crashed one day and it shows errors when I run Verify Disk under Disk Utitlity.
I try to fix the problem by Disk Utility but it said problem can't be fixed. I have to format and reinstall everything again.
Now, it is back to work but having random Application Quit unexpected. I will pick it to Customer Service today and see what I get.

For those who following my build, I would suggest to pick other brand for their SSD. Just don't pick ADATA SSD.
 
Thanks for the guide, installed ML today, same motherboard and processor, no problems so far.

For those asking about hdmi audio, It is working, I followed this tutorial: http://www.tonymacx86.com/hdmi-audio/70765-mountain-lion-hdmi-audio.html

Basically you

extract dsdt
fix errors
apply patch with the correct layout id
delete HDAEnabler8XX.kext
install dsdt
rebuild cache and repair permissions
reboot
go to sound settings and select hdmi

EDIT

After enabling hdmi audio, I have to reconnect the hdmi cable every boot, because now the screen goes crazy. But after that it goes back to normal.
 
1600 speed not working

Great build! This is my first hacintosh and got it up and running very well. Thanks for all your info.

I bought rev 1.1 of this motherboard and bought the same ram using your amazon link. I updated the bios to f11. I cannot get the ram to run at 1600. I picked profile 1 and default settings. I tried other ram settings but it would not work. Works fine at 1333 speed. Any ideas?

All my rear USB 2 ports work and my rear USB 3 ports work. The front usb3 does not work. I'm setting up windows on dual boot and see if it recognizes the front usb3.

I just select Profile 1 and it run 1600MHz automatically. The only difference is that my board is rev 1.0.
Not sure why your ram cannot run at 1600MHz.

Another difference I forgot to mention is I'm using the i3 3225 CPU. I'm going to start support cases with pny and gigabyte. It could be a bad stick of ram.
 
Most new memory modules support XMP data information. However, check the memory spec's because the cheaper memory may not support XMP.

I'm finding out. I emailed pny tech support and there reply was: Whats XMP? :).

What does it mean if the RAM does not support XMP? That it will not work or will I have to change some bios settings?

XMP stands for eXtreme Memory Profile. http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/gaming/gaming-computers/intel-extreme-memory-profile-xmp.html

Most modern motherboard BIOS have this parameter with the exception of entry level motherboards. A good number of motherboards' BIOS use the standard 1333 speed DDR3 memory as default. So, if you have 1600 DDR3 memory, you want to have the motherboard recognize it's performance characteristics.

The better memory comes with XMP compatible information stored on the chip so that, by changing the BIOS XMP parameter (in the Advance Memory BIOS section) to Profile1, the motherboard will read the memory's performance characterists.

The fact that the techs don't know what is XMP is scary. :lol:
 
Hi guys, first post so go easy on me! I have followed the instructions by Moarfish but every time I run multibeast I cannot boot from HDD after. I have searched and read a lot of various approaches but i have not been able to solve the issue. I have installed and reinstalled multiple times but I can't get Mountain Lion to boot from HDD. I am using an i5 3550k CPU and Radeon HD 6670 GPU. Any help would ebe greatly appreciated as all this is still quite new to me
