Mini ITX + TB3 - ITX done right ?

Just spotted this on the Asrock website :

Mini-ITX, Intel Gigabit ethernet, DP, HDMI, ALC1220 audio, 6 x SATA, and TB3 (USB Type C for those lovely new LG displays), all in an ITX size board.

It is great to see and long overdue. It begs the question why motherboard manufacturers ignored thunderbolt for mini itx for so long and installed primarily on atx boards that were already loaded with internal pcie slots.

Probably because they didnt want to go too far outside of the norm. Asrock have a bit of a history doing slightly different and unusual things. Remember the X99 ITX board they did

So it just contains a single DP 1.2 stream...?

Would be a shame if it didn't support the big LG UltraFine, as the small one isn't a TB device anyway...

Well it will most certainly support the smaller 4K LG model.

It doesnt make it very clear though. It mentions DP 1.2 and TB3 as different monitor options; so there could be 2 separate streams there.

I found something more amazing: ASRock DeskMini RX/GTX
