Mini-ITX + GA-Z87N-WIFI – Sys Fan?

Hi,

I have built the Mini Deluxe with the above case/mobo. The mobo has sys fan slot, but it has 4 pins and the supplied fans with the Bit-Fenix Mini-ITX have 3 pins. Does this build need a sys fan? If so, how do i hook one up?

The CPU obviously has a dedicated fan (the i5) and the corsair PSU also has one. I don't have a GPU.

This is the first time I've built a computer as such, so would appreciate some guidance!

Your motherboard supports PWM Fans (basically it increases fan speed as the CPU gets hotter), that is what the fourth pin on the header is for.

If you connect the case fan that came with the BitFenix case to this header, it will work but there will be no speed control and the fan is gonna run at full-speed all the time.

Great, thanks for the info! Seems to work just fine, not too loud. I guess I don't need the front fan given how little stuff is in the case (only the ssd and hdd at that end).
