Microphone Not Working

This is a weird problem to describe.

OS: El Capitan
MB: Z97 PC Mate
CPU: i7 4790K
GPU: Radeon R9 270

The Microphone feature is not working, also the audio icon at the top right hand corner of the screen is greyed out. I have tried using the RealTek Audio Drivers (8111) but it is still not working. Unsure if this is a driver issue or if there is some other sort of issue...

Not an audio driver, supports Realtek networks
AppleHDA.kext only works in S/L/E, remove from L/E
Restart, reply with No Audio Devices - AppleHDA Realtek Audio/Post #1/Problem Reporting files attached.
