I had the Memory Slot Utility popping up each time i booted recently telling me my RAM is correctly installed, which is nice, but annoying.

I ended up reseating my RAM (and switched the sticks if it matters) and the window stopped appearing. just thought id share this if it happens to anyone else :)

note: this would only appear if you had a Mac Pro smbios.

I also had this problem with Lion and a Mac Pro smbios. I fixed it by logging into the computer as root and the privileges of root must have enabled the "helper" to properly set a plist setting somewhere despite incorrect permissions.

See this article for how to enable root login on Lion

Alternatively, it's probably worth a crack at just repairing permissions with disk utility.
