[Working] Maximus VII Hero + GTX 970

[UPDATE]
I think my memory configuration was causing my issues... I replaced my 3 sticks of DDR3 with 2 8 GB DDR3.

2 x Corsair Vengeance DDR3 2400

I do not have the kernel panic after applying MultiBeast, so I think my issue was hardware related.
[END UPDATE]

All,

Spent all weekend trying to hack this:
- ASUS Maximus VII (Z97 chip set)
- Intel i7 4790k
- eGVA GTX 970
- Samsung SSD 840 EVO 500GB
- Corsair DDR3 1600 12GB

I could install Yosemite using embedded Intel video, but I think the combination of the Z97 and GTX970 caused massive issues. I took the desperate step at replacing the ASUS board with a Gigabyte Z97x-Gaming7 board, but the same general issues occurred. I really love the ASUS board so bittersweet it failed, rather have the ASUS board anyway.

Basically, the issues manifest with the GTX 970 card I believe, I'm going to try again once I see the card on the supported list. Too busy to fight any more, but I thought I would post this as a failure report so others can review and suggest fixes, or simply be aware they are in for some trouble if they try this.

My previous hack had no issues with Yosemite that I could not deal with:
-Asus Sabertooth X59
- Intel i7 930
- eGVA GTX 470
- Samsung SSD 840 EVO 500GB
- Corsair DDR3 1600 12GB

Good luck

While a different board I had no issues installing with the GTX970 installed

From memory my flags were
nv_disable=1

GraphicsEnabler=No
-x
-v

After install I downloaded the NVIDIA drivers and rebooted with the nvda_drv=1 flag
