Hey guys,

I'm running hackintosh systems for a few years now, built 4 of it until today. But now I'm thinking about upgrading my current system to get some more performance and go for build #5. And I want to upgrade to Mojave which seems quite a problem as I currently use a GF 1080i :(

I'll use the computer most of the time for video & photo editing with Adobe CC.

My configuration so far:
- Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Ultra
- Intel Core i9 9900K 8x 3.60GHz So.1151
- Noctua NH-U12A
- 8GB MSI Radeon RX Vega 56 AIR BOOST 8G OC Aktiv
- 4x 16GB G.Skill RipJaws V DDR4-3200 DIMM CL16 Single

As I have some experience with gigabyte mainboards I'd prefer it over Asus. And I don't see a lot of difference. The i9 9900 seems to perform pretty good, equipped with the Noctua super-silent and super-efficient fan this should be a dream team.

First looked for a Vega 64, but as it "might!?" be a bit more difficult to install and the advantage over a Vega56 is not that much I'd like to save $100 here.

Not expecting any issues with the RAM.

I already own two Samsung .m2 running in my current system, other harddrives and case.

Any advice on this build? Working or not? As I was only using nVidia cards before: Is there anything I should know about the switch to AMD? Natively supported? Already heard there's some fan problem you have o fix with lilu!?

Sorry for my bad english, german kraut  Looking forward to your thoughts & feedback.

Mojave will work great on those specs. The Vega 56 is a single fan so no fan issue you will want to use lilukext and whatevergreenkext and that's all you should need for native function. You will be able to update without issues as long as Clover is up to date.

I noticed you have VGATab but also it looks like you ran the SoftPowerTable script. See the pic under devices/properties.

You may want to try removing the VGATabkext and test.

Second, there are only 16 pie lanes available on your motherboard for graphics cards. If you use one card you get 16 lanes, if you have two cards it gets split in half at 8 lanes for each card. So for most apps your primary card is losing performance, especially in openGl or gaming type of graphics. For openCl or compute graphics it may not make much of a difference and may boost your capacity, i.e. Luxmark Ball scores. You may want to test by removing your RX 480? For FCPX it may work better to worse?

Third, for Mojave beta 14.5 you should be able to use your Vega without IGPU. I'm not sure what you need for ig platform ID to make the IGPU work and there is the Hackintool setup method which you may or may not have done? Maybe try testing by disabling the IGPU? IF it works well leave it alone or then try finding the proper IGPU settings. Pastrychef has a good guide and has the same CPU.

Good luck, I attached a config.plist and kexts zip with applealckext for audio you may want to test, but it has iMac 19.1 definition and a few other settings changed. Test on a spare test disk, or even a USB stick loads with clover in case it doesn't work. Let me know if it helps or breaks?

Thanks a lot bro yeah I used Vega fan control kext to control the fan should I not use that or if u know correct way to edit fan speeds and also .. btw I tried disabling the IGPU before only running Vega it runs fine but it didn't work in fcpx I tried now this headless IGPU method now fcpx works with the current config I also understand that pie lanes gets divided but I will share with u in system report it says Vega has x16 and rx 480 is running on x8 speed let me share these screenshot with you also I will test your edited config file aswell along with those kexts on a separate drive ..I still have to solve the issue with the other 250gb Samsung evo 960 m.2 which is not showing in the bios .. also note that from whatever guides that I studied they say can't use 19.1 system specs yet so have to use 18.3 for now if I want to use IGPU headless
