Max Tech says 2 new redesigned 24" iMacs (21,1 and 21,2) coming in April 2021

One of these will have an M1 SoC and the higher end version will have a 12 core M1X.

He also speculates that the 32" iMacs will be held back until later in 2021, probably Oct./Nov.
It will come with a dedicated Apple built GPU according to Max Tech.

I often change that to A—— Inc. Using iHex so it looks like a clover build. Hint: OpenCoreEFI, find replace method.
 
Kinda makes sense... Sell M1X SoCs with iffy cores until yields improve, then release 27" iMac with fully unlocked M1X when the manufacturing of the SoC matures a bit...

Btw, they may not necessarily need different motherboards with different SoCs. That would be very inefficient and increase cost needlessly. We don't need different motherboards for i3s and i7s...
