I was able to successfully upgrade (I thought) from ML to Mavericks by using Unibeast and installing in the existing ML location, but after a reboot and log in, none of my apps will run. Every one (except Finder) gives the message:

You can't use this version of the Application "XXX" with this version of OS X"

I wasn't able to run MultiBeast, since I can't run any apps.

Any thoughts?

Go to-->System Preferences and click on-->Security & Privacy then under-->Allow Apps downloaded from :-->click on
Anywhere. Now you should be able to run Multibeast and finish your installation.

I tried that, but it gives me the same message for System Prefs as it does for everything else and won't run it. Finder is the only thing that will run. Is there a way to run MultiBeast off the USB drive?

Was this just a upgrade from ML and not a clean install ? If so I would save all my files and apps and then try installing from scratch. The system preferences should not be giving you that message.....

Are you able to run disk utility? If so, I would try and fix permissions, perhaps that will help.
