I had an 8800 GT (same G92 chipset as the 9800). Ran into the same exact problem as you. Perhaps Mavericks removed the G92 drivers?

Went to Fry's and bought a 650 TI Boost. Works like a charm.

So you're saying that this is just a graphics card issue and replacing it to a new one will correct the problem?

Have you seen this ? Maybe there is a solution for you... and i don't think that this is only a Grphicscard problem, as there are many reports of 8800GT and also 9800GT gfx cards working in Mavericks ;)

Tried everything and still getting the same problem which is the black screen after the apple logo. last resort would really have to be upgrading to a new graphics card.

I have exactly the same problem with my 8800GT. (Previously running 10.7 with no problems). If any 1 has any idea how to fix it, that would be great, since I cant replace my card for now :/.

Yup, problems on a P5K Premium Wifi/AP with 9800GTX+ as well...

I solved this issue on my parents' build by using "GraphicsEnabler=Yes, IGPEnabler=No" at boot. Just GraphicsEnabler=Yes was not enough to do the trick for me. Hope this helps someone else in the same situation.
