Mavericks: No Audio - Realtek ALC AppleHDA [Guide]

Status
Not open for further replies.
followed Toleda's Clover ALC instructions.
Operator error, wrong patch. The correct patch is audio_cloverALC898-90_patch.command, not audio_alc898-92_patch.

Fixes, choose one:
1. With installed S/L/E/AppleHDA.kext, undue all cloverALC patches, rebuild cache and restart.
2. Delete S/L/E/AppleHDA.kext, install native AppleHDA.kext*, run audio_cloverALC898-90_patch.command, restart.

* native AppleHDA.kext: rename Desktop/audio_ALC898/AppleHDA-orig.kext to AppleHDA.kext

Unfortunately, Off Topic.
You have audio, not perfect. When there is a fix, a new thread will be posted.

Sorry. I will wait and watch for a new thread. If you need any more info, please let me know.
Thanks!

Yeah! I got it. Good news! I finally got audio working now! Look at my screenshot. :)

Thanks again!

I can't figure out where I went wrong. Help? I tried to set up ALC892. I still get the 'No output/input devices found' error. I followed Toleda's Clover ALC install instructions. Here's my config and kext....

I'm using....

OS X 10.9.2 with Clover install. Everything else works.

My Audio isn't working, I installed Realtek ALC with DSDT/ALC898 (Multibeast)

Intel Core i7
Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD7-TH
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760

My audio ID says 0
AppleHDA.kext says Version: 2.6.0-toledaALC898

inside DPCIManager i have 2 Audio Devices both with blank Codec IDs:
0x80868C20
0x10DE0E0A

Chameleon Bootlist:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>EthernetBuiltIn</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>No</string>
<key>IGPEnabler</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>Kernel</key>
<string>mach_kernel</string>
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string></string>
<key>Legacy Logo</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>Timeout</key>
<string>2</string>
<key>UseKernelCache</key>
<string>Yes</string>
</dict>
</plist>

Would i need to edit the permissions for the .kext or edit it ?

No. Run MultiBeast/Without DSDT/ALC898
Reply with a Copy of IOReg/IOJones as requested

I'm having trouble following this guide. I've got an MSI mobo with ALC889 audio. I cannot load audio through MultiBeast because then I can't boot and have to reinstall Mavericks or restore to prior to the MultiBeast install.

Audio is the missing component of my install. Help me fix this problem please!
