Hi all guys,

right now i'm on Mavericks 10.9.2 ( kind of working ) on HP Elitebook 8560w.

A couple of questions.

What kext you suggest to install for my Laptop? my only real problems are

1. Audio card is not working

2. When i try to see some Youtube videos at Hi res setting ( 720 p and more ) my computer freezes ( so i suspect something related to my Nvidia Quadro 1000M )

3. Keyboard and touchpad work ( i installed with Unibeast using the Laptop compatibility tag ) but sometimes at startup they are not recognized. What kexts do you suggest for this machine?

4. Yesterday i tried to update to 10.9.3 but after the update my screen goes black at login. So i reinstalled 10.9.2 and kind of works exept point 1. 2.

5. Sometimes when the computer goes in standby it shut down immediately ( something in power management? do you suggest any kext for this?

Basicly can you suggest some kexts that i'll install individually? ( is the best option Kext Utility for this? )

many thanks and all the best

1/ Audio: Best result with patched AppleHDA. Google 'patch AppleHDA guide'. Search for suitable AppleHDA or patch it yourself. Apply appropriate DSDT patches.

DSDT patches you need for AppleHDA: https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch
Apply: "Audio Layout 12" (change layout-id from 12 to the layout-id used by the patched AppleHDA)
Apply: "IRQ Fix"

It is likely your audio codec is one of the well-known ProBook/EliteBook codecs...

2/ Do you have QE/CI working with your nvidia chip?

3/ What trackpad is in your laptop? If Synaptics, https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Voodoo-PS2-Controller

4/ Change in nvidia drivers affecting you? Did you install Nvidia web drivers for 10.9.3?

5/ Check that you have PM setup correctly... http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks...nagement-sandy-bridge-ivy-bridge-laptops.html

Many thanks RehabMan!

what are QE/CI?
do you think i should download and install Nvidia drivers for 10.9.2 ?

do you think that VoodooHDA will works for my audio?

many thanks

I don't have any nvidia hardware, but from what I read there are 10.9.3 drivers available from nvidia that resolve issues.

I've never used VoodooHDA and don't recommend it.

thanks!
but what are QE/CI ?

Thanks i did it.

Basically my dashboard works and i always boot with GraphicsEnabler=Yes so i guess CE/QI are enabled.
But my laptop freezes when i try to watch Youtube videos with 720p and more resolution.

Probably issue with nvidia graphics drivers... I'm not familiar with nvidia as I don't have any such hardware. I know that nvidia provides their own drivers in addition to Apple's native drivers (enabled by nvda_drv=1 after download/install).

many thanks for the info.
