I always liked the hard drive disc holders on those Mac Pro towers so when I started to use three 3.5" drives and two 2.5" ones I started searching for Mac Pro towers on EBay. The mTX Mac Pro kit from The Laser Hive and a MSI B250M Gaming Pro should do it. But what would my accent color be? Well, the MSI B250M glows in red. And there is no such thing as too much red, right?

1) The BitFenix Alchemy 2.0 LEDs are available in short and long variants, so give me one of each in red. They are magnetic - the aluminum parts of the MacPro don't attract them. But ... the underside of the center shelf (long LED strip) and the top rim of the fan holder in the upper middle (short LED strip) do.

2) Used Thermaltake's Riing 12 in red for the backside fan.

3) Since the cables are all routed through one hole situated more in the front of the case the PSU cables need to be extended. Fortunately you can find extender cables for ATX power, GPU power and CPU power on Amazon or EBay. Will need an extra long S-ATA cable (55 cm) to connect the optical drive to the motherboard. Used one of those 2x 2.5" to 3.5" holders for the two SSDs. Might also need S-ATA power extenders and S-ATA power cable splitters.

Et voila.
