macOS Sierra installation on Local drive (C:)

Hello. I have one and only HDD on my laptop that is divided into 2 local Drives (C: ) and (D: ). (C: ) is obviously where Windows 10 is installed. So my question is: can I install Sierra on (C: ) instead of Windows with saving all the data on (D: ), or does erasing and formatting mentioned in the guide mean formatting the whole of the drive? Thank you.

You'll need a GUID partitioned disk with a HFS+ partition on it. If your HDD is already GUID partitioned, you might be able to reuse it without formatting the whole drive. If it's legacy MBR, you'll need to format the whole thing.
